Peaceful Streets founder Antonio Buehler was arrested in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 26th while peacefully and legally filming two officers arresting a male suspect. The Austin Police Department is targeting Buehler for his very public attempts to bring accountability to local law enforcement agencies.

The Austin Police Department thinks that they can intimidate peaceful people into cowering before their badges instead of standing up for their civil liberties. Join the Peaceful Streets Project and allies in telling APD that their bully tactics will not work on the people of Austin!

Watch video of the arrest taken by a fellow Peaceful Streets activist.

Greeted by dozens of rallying supporters, Antonio Buehler walks out of the Travis County jail Sunday following his arrest for peacefully and legally filming two police officers arresting a man in downtown Austin.

Rally Against Police Abuse — Solidarity with Anaheim, CA!

People across the nation are outraged after finding out that the Anaheim Police Department killed an unarmed man, Manuel Diaz, on Saturday, July 21st, then randomly began shooting into a crowd of women and children with non-lethal rounds, unleashed a K-9 dog on a woman and a baby, and then killed another man the following day.

On Friday, July 27th, Austin joined Dallas, Harlem, Oakland, Portland, San Francisco, Riverside and others in peaceful protest against the violence of the Anaheim Police Department and against the violence of police departments across the nation.
